Research interests

What separates a successful technology pilot from national-scale deployment. The regulatory and institutional dynamics that determine whether emerging technology reaches the people it was built for, or stops at the proof-of-concept stage.

Food and water security are two areas he keeps coming back to. The technology exists, the funding exists, and the urgency is obvious. The gap is almost always in execution across borders. He learned Portuguese to work closer to Brazil, and it opened up more than just business. His favorite detail about Florianopolis: you can see dolphins and penguins on the island.
